Marking
Mallard presents as a dark marking accompanied by iridescent feathers; often covering the head and neck of an avian.
- The dark part of the marking, or the 'base' must be a semi-solid shape, and may not have a completely blended edge. Some areas may fade into the base, or have a soft/textured edge; but the marking must remain distinct from the base color.
- The iridescent part of the marking may only appear in areas where the dark part of the marking is present; it will always have a feather texture to it- in whatever shape is appropriate for the area it is present.
- Gradients may be present within the marking!
- The dark part of the marking should always be noticeably darker than the base color, if not black.
- The iridescent part of the marking must be a natural assortment of colors found in living birds with iridescent feathers; similar to what's acceptable for aurora.

Mallard is a marking that will, in all cases, present on the neck at the very least. It may, however, extend to the head, chest, and appear on the feathers of the wings and/or tail.
